Chris Beales - Home Page
Welcome to my website. I am a song-writing musician from Reading: lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Static Rain. I also play acoustically with a variety of musicians from around the town. Having recorded 4 albums, including my passionate solo album "Ragged Valentine" and the band's new, powerful rock album "Brittle Sky", I am looking forward to a year of new musical challenges.
2010 promises to be an important year as my other great passion - with my Environmental Scientist hat on - is to try to understand and communicate the issues and consequences of man-made climate change. Whilst I hope that you enjoy the music, I am even more keen for you to read the Climate Change pages on this website. I have put a lot of work into summarising what the issue is all about, whilst giving you links to reliable sources of further information.
"We haven't got much more than this year to turn things around. That is why it is so important that we don't allow our politicians to let climate change slip down the priority list: something that is going to be even harder with the weak outcome from the Copenhagen summit."

The Climate Change pages have been completely rewritten to include new information on emissions targets, consequences and personal action you can take to help deal with this issue. I hope that you find them useful and get inspired.
This link will take you to pages about my new album Ragged Valentine. There are samples of the songs, pictures and a review of the fantastic launch gig that I held in the summer of 2008.
You can also listen to a couple more songs, find out when I am gigging and join my network of friends at myspace.com/chrisbeales.
For information about my band Static Rain you can find us at staticrain.net. We're an old school, guitar driven, passionate rock band. Take a look at the Our Music pages and have a listen to samples of the new album Brittle Sky.
This link takes you to Oxfam's website. This is a charity I have a lot of respect for. We must put an end to global poverty. Notice as well that we need to help and work with developing Nations to ease reduce the severity of climate change. Share the love.
Something fun and relaxing: this is a link to the Cloud Appreciation Society website. Clouds are fab so I've decided to join them [I am member number 16155].
